What Synodality Means
✦ A Church on the Move
Synodality is more than a concept — it’s the Church’s way of being. Pope Francis reminds us that the Church is called to journey together, listening to one another and to the Holy Spirit. In a world that often favors division, the invitation to walk as one body is both countercultural and deeply biblical.
✦ Listening as a First Step
At the heart of synodality is attentive listening — not just to leaders, but to all voices in the community. From the elderly to the young, from those deeply involved to those on the margins, each perspective matters. True discernment begins when we take time to understand before we act.
✦ Shared Responsibility
Synodality also invites us to shared responsibility. The life of a parish does not depend on the priest alone, but on a diversity of charisms. Welcoming, organizing, teaching, caring — all these are ways of participating in the mission. Together, we form the living stones of the Church.
✦ A Path of Communion
Walking together is not always easy. It demands patience, humility, and trust. But it is also the path of communion, where we discover that unity does not mean uniformity. Synodality leads us to become a more listening, serving, and witnessing Church — in the image of Christ.
